Maria Ramos

Her love of cooking emerged when she was a teenager and, as punishment, she started working in her mother's restaurant in the summer. Used to seeing her grandmother making desserts rather than savory dishes, the pastry world was where Maria Ramos found her place. She was part of the first class specializing in pastry at the Lisbon Hotel and Tourism School and then worked in several 5-star hotels, including Altis Belém and, since 2019, Bairro Alto Hotel. Here, the focus is the street-facing patisserie, where Portuguese products find their spotlight, such as the doughnut made with white chocolate from the Portuguese brand Melgão.

Fun fact. She has paid tribute to her grandmothers in various creations, such as a white cake with yogurt ice cream and strawberry soup, now off the BAHR menu, but which everyone still talks about.
