Lota Sea & Fire


The name sets the tone, yet the experience goes beyond what one might expect. At Lota Sea & Fire, the focus is on seafood and fish and makes way for the smoky aromas of fire. The venue, composed of a restaurant and bar – with cocktails, oysters and other snacks and a wine list signed by the Altos Provadores – and terrace (open from May to October), stands out for its tasteful décor and its (more than) congruent allusion to the sea. At the helm of this creative and innovative kitchen is chef Hugo Candeias, whose ever-evolving menu includes greater amberjack ceviche with orange and almonds, seafood and fish rice, ‘peixinhos da Lota’ with paprika mayonnaise and tiger prawn with ‘caldeirada’ sauce.
